Job summary

ICEYE is seeking a Software Engineer, Simulation and Modeling to build end-to-end frameworks for satellite constellations and emitters. You’ll generate signals, model orbit geometry, and validate results with a reproducible approach. Hybrid Valencia role with security checks supports RF experimentation and scalable simulations.

You’ll collaborate with lab, signal processing and ground teams to drive architecture decisions and deliver end-to-end capacity studies.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering in Python (and ideally a compiled language) with good practices.
• Experience building, validating, and using simulation/modeling of a physical system.
• Numerical/scientific computing with NumPy/SciPy and vectorisation.
• Knowledge of orbital mechanics, RF link budgets, or signal processing.
• Habits that ensure results are reproducible and traceable.
• Clear written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Model the constellation: orbit propagation, geometry, attitude, pointing and timing.
• Model emitters and the theatre with real antenna patterns and duty cycles.
• Generate signals: RF propagation, Doppler, ionosphere effects, synthetic I/Q per satellite.
• Own the truth: maintain a provenance ledger, scoring, and reproducible results.
• Collaborate with RF and ground teams to align channel simulator and hardware playback.
• Build a platform: versioned scenarios, CI, documentation, and user-friendly interfaces.
• Answer capacity and performance questions for product and customers.
