Job summary

ICEYE seeks a Software Engineer, Simulation and Modeling to build a flexible framework for an RF satellite constellation. You will model orbit, geometry and emitters, generate signals, and log a truth ledger to quantify detection and geolocation performance.

You’ll work with lab, RF and ground teams to produce reproducible results for internal stakeholders. You will apply Python and NumPy/SciPy, explore tools like STK/Orekit, and contribute to scalable, testable software with CI and

Qualifications

Strong software engineering in Python (and ideally a compiled language).
Experience building a simulation or model of a physical system and validating it against data.
Numerical and scientific computing with NumPy/SciPy or equivalent.
Working knowledge of orbital mechanics / access computation, RF link budgets or signal processing.
Reproducibility: seeds, configuration management and data provenance.
Clear written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

Model the constellation: orbit propagation, cluster geometry, attitude and pointing, antenna beams, access windows.
Model emitters and theatre with real patterns, modes and duty cycles, extending from lab captures.
Generate signals: propagation and link modelling, synthetic I/Q per satellite with fidelity.
Own the truth ledger: logged emissions, positions and times, with scoring metrics.
Collaborate with RF team to provide geometry and timing for channel simulation playback.
Develop a platform: versioned scenarios, reproducible runs, provenance and CI tests.
Answer capacity, revisit and performance questions for product and sales teams.
