Job summary

PLD Space in Elche, Spain, is seeking a Mechanism Analysis Engineer to join the engineering team. You will contribute to mechanism analysis, locking systems, actuators integration and documentation across design, prototyping, testing and production stages.

Ideal candidates have a degree in aerospace/mechanical engineering and at least 5 years in mechanism design within aerospace, with strong CAD (NX) and PDM (Teamcenter) capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or demonstrable relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years of aerospace experience as a Mechanisms Design Engineer.
• Knowledge in design criteria, materials and mechanical properties for loads and environment.
• Knowledge in stack-up analysis and kinematic of mechanisms.
• High CAD competence and PDM tools usage.

Responsibilities

• Functional analysis, kinematic analysis of mechanisms and clash analysis, with material selection.
• Research locking/releasing systems and rotating mechanisms for vacuum and extreme temperatures.
• Select and integrate actuators and pneumatic systems with other departments.
• Generate engineering documentation: 3D models, drawings, BOM, weight reports and reports.
• Interact with Stress, M&P, Testing, Propulsion, Avionics, and Manufacturing as needed.
• Ensure product specs during prototyping, testing, qualification and mass production.
• Participate in design reviews with Supply Chain and Manufacturing.
• Drive continuous improvement and weight optimisation.
• Identify cost saving opportunities and improve efficiency.
• Complete tasks on time, on quality, on cost.
