Job summary

PLD Space in Elche, Spain, is seeking a Mechanism Design Engineer to join our Structures Team. You will design and mature mechanism components for our MIURA launchers and LINCE capsule, driving from concept through detailed design, documentation, and integration with other engineering domains.

The role requires strong CAD skills, experience with NX and Teamcenter, and a background in aerospace mechanisms or similar high-performance environments.

Qualifications

• +3 years of parametric modelling design (Siemens NX) and PDM tools (Teamcenter).
• Experience in mechanism design applications and selection of standard components.
• Familiar with manufacturing technologies (machining, forming, welding, composites).
• Knowledge of tolerancing standards (ASME Y14.5, ISO 1101)

Responsibilities

• Mechanism design and detailed definition from concept to parts and assemblies.
• Perform functional analysis, kinematic studies and material selection.
• Research locking/releasing systems and vacuum/thermal compatible mechanisms.
• Select actuators and pneumatic systems; generate 3D models, drawings and BOMs.
• Interface with Stress, Testing, Propulsion and Avionics; support Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
• Meet product specs and participate in design reviews for cost and schedule.
