Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior ServiceNow Technical Architect (CTA) to own end-to-end architectural leadership for the ServiceNow platform. You will guide multi-site deployments, define HLDs/LLDs, and translate business needs into scalable architectural blueprints.

This role emphasizes security, data governance, and high-performance integrations across global environments. Fluent English required; DAO governance, TOGAF familiarity, and Agile/DevOps experience are valued.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on ServiceNow experience in design, development, and implementation.
• 3–5 years as Platform or Enterprise Architect.
• Expertise across HAM, SAM, ITSM, ITOM, and core ServiceNow.
• Security: ACLs, encryption; scripting; data modelling; integration frameworks.
• Flow Designer, NOW Experience, Service Portal, ATF, Integration Hub, NowAssist, NowCreate.
• Leading large-scale, global ServiceNow deployments.
• CAD and CIS certifications desired (ITSM, HRSD, ITOM).
• Familiarity with TOGAF and ITIL processes; Agile/DevOps for platform development.
• Fluent English; Dutch/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end technical architecture of the ServiceNow platform across modules.
• Lead the design of High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs) for complex ServiceNow implementations including multi-instance, global and highly integrated environments.
• Translate strategic business objectives into architectural blueprints.
• Apply cross-functional module knowledge to ensure data model alignment including CSDM.
• Define governance processes including Design Authority Board reviews for major changes.
• Enforce best practices and minimize technical debt; keep platform evergreen.
• Conduct risk assessments and provide architectural assurance aligned to security and data governance.
• Design secure, high-performance integrations using REST/SOAP and Integration Hub.
• Govern data model, CMDB, and CSDM; ensure data integrity.
• Act as escalation point for architecture, performance, and security challenges.
• Coach and mentor Solution Architects and Developers.
• Present strategies and roadmaps to technical teams and executives.
• Support pre-sales: scoping, estimates, statements of work.

What you’ll bring

• ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) — mandatory


• 8+ years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow solution design, development, and implementation, with at least 3–5 years acting as a Platform or Enterprise Architect


• In-depth expertise across the core ServiceNow platform and multiple major application suites including HAM, SAM, ITSM, and ITOM


• Expert proficiency in platform security (ACLs, encryption), scripting (JavaScript, GlideScript), data modelling, and integration frameworks


• Hands-on experience with Flow Designer, NOW Experience, Service Portal, ATF, Integration Hub, NowAssist, and NowCreate


• Proven track record architecting and leading large-scale, complex, and global ServiceNow deployments


• Certified Application Developer (CAD) and multiple CIS certifications (ITSM, HRSD, ITOM) — desired


• Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and ITIL processes — desired


• Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies for platform development and release management — desired


• Fluent English — required. Dutch and Spanish language skills are a plus
