Hitachi Energy in Madrid is seeking an experienced Senior System Engineer to lead power electronics and power systems activities in our ES Regional Office. You will design converter systems for STATCOM and related grid applications, from tendering to site commissioning, in a multicultural, global engineering environment.

You will collaborate with Sales, other engineering teams, and R&D to perform simulations, define controls and protections, and ensure compliance with grid codes and standards.

Formación

• Master's degree in electrical engineering with focus on Power Systems and Power Electronics.
• Experience in hydropower or railway sector is a strong plus.
• Experience in power electronics and power system simulations.
• Willingness to travel globally (<10%).

Responsabilidades

• Design power electronic converter systems including SFC, STATCOMs, etc., from sales and tendering phase to project execution, including occasional customer and site visits.
• Own the system engineering scope throughout project execution, in close collaboration with Sales, other Engineering departments, Project Management, and Service.
• Perform system design tasks such as simulations (e.g., harmonics, transients), performance calculations, component specifications for sub-suppliers, control and protection definitions, and documentation of design activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, customer specifications and grid codes.
• Identify risks and opportunities, proposing effective mitigation measures.
• Work closely with R&D teams on system design and modeling of converter systems.
• Define and evaluate on-site performance measurements.
• Contribute to the continuous development of engineering processes by sharing knowledge, participating in conferences and committees.
