Hitachi Energy Spain, S.A.U. is seeking a Commissioning Control Engineer to join our Madrid center. You will help plan and execute commissioning of high power converters and support on-site testing and integration with customer teams.

The role requires fluency in English, strong problem-solving, and a structured approach. Expect frequent on-site assignments and collaboration across global teams within Grid & Power Quality Solutions.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Experience in process control and software design.
• Familiar with OPC, IEC61850, IEC60870-5-104, DNP3 protocols.
• Experience in testing and commissioning of power converters or substations.
• Willing to travel globally (up to 80%).

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare cold, hot, and wet commissioning for power electronic converters.
• Interface testing, energization and documentation.
• Coordinate commissioning between customer, team and others.
• Inspect site and water cooling unit installation and testing.
• Ensure on-time completion with focus on quality and safety.
