Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our SRE team. You will analyze system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements across Compute, CDN, and security platforms.

Engage with engineering to deploy features and optimize large-scale distributed systems. Ideal candidates have CS or related degree, strong Python/Bash skills, and experience with Linux, VMs, and Kubernetes in production environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience developing solutions in Python, Bash, or other languages.
• Familiar with internet protocols (DNS, HTTP, TCP).
• Experience working with complex systems in Linux, VM, and Kubernetes production environments.
• Strong communication, organization, and self-starting attitude.

Responsibilities

• Test inefficiencies and fragilities; implement fixes in code or IaC.
• Design automation or self-service tooling with Engineering or SRE teams.
• Analyze data to characterize performance and capacity of large-scale systems.
• Define and track platform KPIs to identify trends and improvements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve escalations and incidents for customers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather customer requirements.
