Job summary

AST SpaceMobile seeks a Senior Mechanics Designer to lead an R&D team for Space communication platform modules. The role reports to the SVP and oversees all mechanics design, verification, and integration with satellite systems, ensuring manufacturability for high production rates in a space environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on with design tools, modules design, analysis and PDM/PLM.

Responsibilities

• Lead design from early phases through design verification of all mechanics aspects and their full detail BOM.
• Lead mechanics design to meet functionality and performance requirements of space electronics, Power, RF, EMI and QA for space operation.
• Oversee design for manufacturability and hand-over from design validation phase to NPI.
• Directly manage a team of mechanics engineers and external experts/outsourced services.
• Establish tools, systems and procedures to improve planning, predictability and quality of deliverables.
