Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is seeking an Electronic Hardware Engineer to design, develop, validate and document onboard satellite electronic systems for a global broadband network. The role focuses on high-reliability hardware design, PCB layout, and conformance with aerospace standards.

Responsibilities include schematic/PCB design, simulations, component selection, HW-SW integration, and participation in PDR/CDR with ESA/NASA collaborators.

Qualifications

• University degree in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or similar.
• Minimum 8 years in electronic hardware design, preferably in aerospace, defense or automotive.
• Experience in multilayer PCB design, high-speed design, and environments with thermal or electromagnetic constraints.
• Knowledge of ECSS, DO-254, IPC.

Responsibilities

• Design schematics and PCBs for satellite electronic systems (power subsystems, communications, control).
• Perform simulations and signal analysis; ensure electrical and thermal integrity.
• Participate in component selection per space standards (ECSS, MIL-STD).
• Collaborate in HW-SW system integration with software, systems, integration and testing teams.
• Prepare technical documentation in accordance with aerospace standards.
• Support environmental test campaigns (EMC, vibration, thermal-vacuum).
• Collaborate with suppliers for manufacturing and assembly of electronic boards.
• Participate in design reviews (PDR, CDR) with clients or agencies (ESA, NASA).
