Job summary

AST SpaceMobile seeks a senior mechanics designer to lead a R&D team for space communication platform modules, reporting to the SVP. Qualifications

• 10+ years in mechanics development for aerospace/space or automotive industries.
• Experience with design verification, manufacturability, and space environment standards.
• Strong reliability and quality practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead design from concept through verification of all mechanical aspects and BOM.
• Collaborate cross-functionally for EMI, QA, and space environment requirements.
• Lead manufacturability focus and handover to NPI.
• Manage a team of mechanics engineers and external consultants.
• Improve planning, tools, and processes to ensure delivery quality.
