Zusammenfassung

Spendesk is seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the Accounting squad, with the role open in London, Paris or Barcelona. You will help shape the technical direction of the squad, lead complex initiatives and contribute to building reliable financial systems that support accurate bookkeeping and month-end close.

You will work closely with Product, Design, Accounting specialists and other Engineering teams to solve complex domain problems and deliver robust systems.

Qualifikationen

• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Significant production software experience in product-focused environments.
• Strong backend TypeScript/Node.js and frontend React expertise.
• Proven track record designing reliable, scalable systems.
• Autonomy to own architecture; experience mentoring engineers.

Aufgaben

• Lead the design and development of reliable systems for bookkeeping preparation, payables and payment workflows.
• Build rules-based automation for payable and expense coding.
• Improve how spend data is enriched, classified, validated and reconciled.
• Contribute to supplier and receipt management capabilities.
• Build clear accounting visibility and auditability for Finance teams.
• Design robust workflows that handle complex financial rules and reconciliation scenarios.
• Define and evolve scalable architectures, domain boundaries and integration patterns.
• Own technical initiatives from discovery through production rollout and continuous improvement.
• Make pragmatic decisions around data consistency, reliability and observability.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Accounting and Operations stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
• Help shape engineering practices and the technical roadmap of the squad.
• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly and promote effective workflows.
