Job summary

Fliff Inc is seeking a senior Python engineer to lead three backend developers working on payments, identity verification (KYC), location services, and other external integrations. You’ll guide technical delivery and mentor the team while remaining hands-on.

Our stack includes Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, AWS. You’ll design integrations, coordinate with product and partners, and drive reliable production systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with Python as primary language.
• Production experience with payments or similar financial systems.
• Experience launching and supporting an integration and verifying transactions/records recovery.
• Experience building reliable API and event-driven integrations.
• Experience designing scalable services, databases, tests, and monitoring.
• Examples of guiding a project, mentoring engineers, or coordinating delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design and build integrations, owning delivery from requirements and technical decisions through deployment, launch, and ongoing improvement.
• Guide the team’s technical direction and delivery through clear responsibilities, design and code reviews, mentoring, shared knowledge, and constructive performance feedback.
• Work with product, engineering, and external partners to agree priorities, communicate trade-offs, and deliver the intended results.
• Improve existing integrations through testing, monitoring, logging, alerting, and documentation.
• Introduce practical engineering improvements and help the wider team adopt them.
• Investigate production issues and participate in the team’s on-call rotation.
