Job summary

Fliff is seeking a senior Python engineer who can lead a small backend team focused on payments, identity verification (KYC), and location services. You’ll shape technical direction while staying hands-on, delivering reliable integrations with external partners.

You’ll mentor three developers, own critical backend systems, and partner with product to align priorities and ensure robust, scalable delivery in production.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with Python as the primary language.
• Production experience with payments or similar financial systems.
• Experience launching and supporting an integration and recovering transactions.
• Experience building reliable API and event-driven integrations.
• Experience mentoring engineers and coordinating delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design and build integrations from requirements to deployment.
• Guide technical direction, code reviews, mentoring, and delivery.
• Work with product, engineering, and partners to set priorities.
• Improve existing integrations with testing, monitoring, and logging.
• Introduce engineering improvements and drive adoption.
• Investigate production issues and participate in on-call rotation.
