Hitachi Energy in Madrid is seeking an experienced Senior System Engineer with a strong background in power electronics, power systems, and system simulations. You will lead system engineering for high‑power converters used in STATCOM and rail power supply projects, collaborating across sales, engineering, and service teams.

The role requires a Master’s in electrical engineering and hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink, along with an ability to travel (<10%). The successful candidate will help advance grid modernization and renewable integration globally.

Formación

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering with focus on Power Systems/Power Electronics
• Experience in power electronics/power system simulations is required or strongly preferred

Responsabilidades

• Design power electronic converter systems (SFC/STATCOM) from sales/tendering through project execution, including occasional site visits
• Own the system engineering scope throughout project execution in collaboration with Sales, Engineering, PM, and Service
• Perform system design tasks: simulations (harmonics/transients), performance calculations, component specs for sub-suppliers, control/protection definitions, documentation
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, customer specs, and grid codes
• Identify risks and opportunities and propose mitigation measures
• Collaborate with R&D on system design and modelling of converter systems
• Define and evaluate on-site performance measurements
• Share knowledge and contribute to development of engineering processes through conferences and committees
