Hitachi Energy Spain, S.A.U. in Madrid invites an experienced Senior System Engineer with a strong background in power electronics and power systems to join our ES Regional Office.

You will lead design of converter systems (SFC, STATCOM) from sales through project execution, collaborate with Sales, other engineering teams, and Service, and ensure compliance with grid codes. Fluent English is required; travel up to 10% globally.

Formación

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering with focus on power systems and power electronics.
• Experience in hydropower or railway sectors is a plus.
• Experience with Matlab/Simulink is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Design power electronic converter systems from sales to project execution, including site visits.
• Own the system engineering scope throughout project execution, in close collaboration with Sales, other Engineering departments, Project Management, and Service.
• Perform system design tasks such as simulations (e.g., harmonics, transients), performance calculations, component specifications for sub-suppliers, control and protection definitions, and documentation of design activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, customer specifications and grid codes.
• Identify risks and opportunities, proposing effective mitigation measures.
• Work closely with R&D teams on system design and modeling of converter systems.
• Define and evaluate on-site performance measurements.
• Contribute to the continuous development of engineering processes by sharing knowledge, participating in conferences and committees.
