Axpo-Italia-Spa, an international energy company, is seeking a PostgreSQL specialist to serve as the main contact for PostgreSQL within the Database Services team, focusing on Azure configurations. You will define best-practice setups and optimize PostgreSQL and SQL Server solutions.

You will collaborate with Operations, Development and Business teams to resolve performance issues, drive monitoring, and contribute to improvements across the lifecycle. Hybrid work in Madrid with flexible hours.

Formación

• Extensive experience managing PostgreSQL environments, preferably on Azure.
• Experience with performance tuning, monitoring, and high-availability solutions.
• Knowledge of MS SQL Server; exposure to Oracle.
• Familiar with DevOps, automation tools, or scripting (PowerShell).
• Strong analytical and communication skills; collaborative mindset.
• Fluent English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.

What you will do:

• Act as the main point of contact for PostgreSQL topics within the Database Services team

• Define and improve best-practice configurations for PostgreSQL environments on Azure

• Operate, support, and optimize PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server solutions

• Collaborate with Operations, Development, and Business teams to identify and resolve performance issues

• Contribute to database improvements across the full software development lifecycle

• Drive monitoring, alerting, and incident resolution processes to strengthen system stability and performance

What you bring & who you are:

• Several years of experience managing PostgreSQL environments, ideally on Azure

• Experience with database performance tuning, monitoring, and high-availability solutions

• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and ideally exposure to other database technologies such as Oracle

• Familiarity with DevOps principles, automation tools, or scripting technologies such as PowerShell

• Strong analytical and communication skills with a collaborative mindset

• Fluent English skills; ideally, you also have a good level of Spanish
