Elastic seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join the Elasticsearch Performance team. You will drive performance optimization across distributed systems, focusing on core design, profiling, and scalable improvements.

Responsibilities include implementing performance models, running benchmarks with JMH/Rally, and guiding autmation for profiling and regression detection. Strong Java/JVM expertise is required.

Formación

• Proven experience profiling and optimizing distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of Java internals and JVM memory management.
• Experience with benchmarking tools (JMH, Rally) and performance regression detection.
• Ability to design and implement lock-free, high-performance code for distributed environments.

Responsabilidades

• Contribute to core performance engineering initiatives from development to production.
• Execute architectural and code-level performance improvement designs.
• Build foundational performance models for distributed systems.
• Support optimization strategies for scalable, predictable Elasticsearch performance.
• Profile and analyze system behavior to identify bottlenecks in logging, metrics, and vector search.
• Ensure robust performance benchmarks and regression detection for serverless and stateful architectures.
• Collaborate across teams to apply performance-focused development practices.
