Elastic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Elasticsearch Performance team. You will drive high-performance optimization for distributed systems and contribute code from development to production.

The role emphasizes profiling, benchmarking, and AI-assisted automation to improve performance across stateful and serverless environments. You will collaborate across teams, review code, and champion robust performance practices while shaping scalable architectures and effective

Formación

Strong experience with Java internals and JVM memory management.
Proven experience profiling and optimizing distributed systems.
Experience with benchmarking tools (JMH, Rally) and implementing optimizations.

Responsabilidades

Contribute to core performance engineering initiatives from development to production.
Implement foundational performance models for complex distributed systems.
Support optimization strategies for performance, predictability, and scalability.
Profile and analyze system behavior to identify bottlenecks in logging, metrics, and vector search.
Ensure robust performance benchmarks and regression detection for stateful and Serverless architectures.
Collaborate across the team to apply performance-focused development practices.
Contribute to automation by building AI-assisted optimization harnesses.
Provide technical guidance and peer reviews to engineers.
