Job summary

Sompo International is seeking a Senior Claims Handler for Marine and other First Party Lines to join our Claims Operations in Spain. You will handle mid-to-large complex claims with minimal oversight, delivering excellent service and building strong relationships with clients, brokers, and service providers.

You will determine appropriate coverages, manage reserves, and negotiate settlements while staying aligned with corporate guidelines and authority.

Qualifications

• University degree in law or economics, or related field.
• 5+ years of Marine and other First Party Lines claims experience.
• Experience with Management of TPAs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Determine policy coverages and apply best claims practices.
• Open, adjust and close reserves following guidelines.
• Negotiate to resolve claims and manage external collaborators.
• Maintain knowledge of local and international markets and regulations.
• Provide high-quality customer service and mentor junior staff.
