Skydance Animation is seeking a Senior Grooming TD to create high-quality grooms and hair shading lookdev for various characters and props. You will work within an art-direction-driven pipeline, collaborating with the team to push technical and artistic boundaries.

The role requires 5+ years in VFX/animation, deep grooming and rendering knowledge, and strong Houdini skills, along with Python or C/C++ familiarity. Spanish language is a plus, and the position is on-site in Madrid, Spain.

Responsabilidades

• Create complex, artistically appealing hairstyles, grooms & surfacing for human characters, furry creatures, feathered characters, props and elements.
• Work within art direction guidelines and established pipeline.
• Develop departmental tools and techniques and keep up with technology trends.
• Collaborate with the team, providing support and guidance for artistic growth.
• Ensure deadlines are met and deliver high quality work.

As a Senior Grooming TD , you will c reate the highest quality grooms, hair shading lookdev for characters of the production.

Responsibilities

• Works within art direction guidelines.
• Creates complex, artistically appealing hairstyles, grooms & surfacing for:
• human characters
• furry creatures
• feathered characters
• props and elements
• Keep s up on current artistic methodologies and on technology trends and tools that best suit the production and the company, in the development of a stronger creative and technical environment .
• Ge t s involved in the development of departmental tools and techniques .
• Works within the established pipeline.
• Works together with the team providing them with support, guidance and instruction in areas that contribute towards their artistic and professional growth.
• Follows supervisor’s and lead's guidance .
• Work s closely with production to ensure the desired work is delivered and that deadlines are met .
• Has the a bility to perform multiple tasks, set priorities and problem solve .

Requirements

• 5+ years in VFX or animation industries.
• 3+ years in the animation industry
• Must have a good understanding of the processes of grooming, surfacing, rendering, simulation.
• Ability to consistently produce high quality grooms and delivering on schedule.
• Strong knowledge of Houdini.
• Depth of knowledge in groom & surfacing tools, renderers (Houdini, Maya, xGen, Yeti, Shave and Haircut, Mari, Substance, Arnold or Renderman).
• Knowledge of CFX and simulation tools a plus (nhair, carbon, vellum).
• Knowledge of Python or C/C++ programming, VEX and Houdini HDA creation is a plus.
• High English level desirable .
• Spanish desirable.
