Julius Baer is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, develop and test critical software modules within a cross-functional, agile team. You will own the full delivery lifecycle, translating business needs into robust technical solutions and collaborating with Solution Architects to ensure architectural alignment.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum seven years of Java development experience.
• At least three years of Frontend / Full-Stack development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and SOA, RESTful services, SQL (Oracle).
• Experience with React/Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, Kubernetes, Kafka/Avro, OpenAPI and UML.
• Solid understanding of client pricing domain and core banking systems.
• Experience with TDD/BDD and automated testing, CI/CD pipelines.

YOUR CHALLENGE

• Collaborate within a cross-functional, agile team
• Own the full software delivery lifecycle: design, implement, deploy, release, and monitor applications
• Translate business needs into technical solutions by partnering with colleagues across various divisions of Julius Baer
• Work alongside Solution Architects to design software solutions aligned with the Bank’s overall architecture vision
• Engage actively in internal Software Engineering communities by sharing knowledge and supporting peers
• Conduct pull request reviews and deliver high‑quality code that adheres to Julius Baer’s engineering guidelines and standards

YOUR PROFILE

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent proven working experience
• Experience: Minimum of seven years of Java development experience, along with minimum of three years of Frontend / Full-Stack development experience
• Tech stack: Spring Boot, service-oriented architecture, RESTful services, SQL (Oracle), React/Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, Kubernetes (PKS), Virtual Machines, streaming (Kafka, Avro), OpenAPI, and UML
• Financial domain expertise: Solid understanding of client pricing domain and core banking systems
• Engineering practices: Proven delivery experience using test-oriented development approaches, including Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), with a strong appreciation for automated testing and quality assurance measures
• DevOps understanding: Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and modern deployment concepts
• Soft skills: Pragmatic, open-minded, and entrepreneurial, with a can‑do attitude. You take pride in your work and lead by example
• Collaboration: Strong communication and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to engage effectively across technical and business stakeholders in a cross‑cultural environment
• Language: English C1 level with fluent business proficiency
• Bonus: Experience with AI‑assisted coding tools such as Claude Code or similar is a plus
