Job summary

Blend is seeking a Full Stack Developer to own end-to-end technical delivery for a key product/module. This hands-on role balances backend strength with frontend experience and spans cloud, data, testing, and AI-enabled workflows.

You will lead backend development using Python/Flask, collaborate on React/TypeScript frontend, and own cloud deployments in GCP, with strong emphasis on scalable architecture and secure coding practices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, with strong full-stack development experience.
• Strong experience with Python and Flask, including API design and backend services.
• Solid hands-on experience with React and TypeScript.
• Experience with GCP and cloud-native applications.
• Strong SQL and data modeling experience.
• Experience with Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with automated testing and a strong quality mindset.
• Ability to troubleshoot across application, data, cloud, and deployment layers.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Hands-on technical owner with leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership across backend, frontend, cloud, data, testing, and deployment.
• Own backend architecture and development using Python and Flask, including API design and service-layer ownership.
• Guide backend patterns, clean architecture, and service/data-access separation.
• Contribute to frontend development with React and TypeScript.
• Own cloud integrations and deployments within GCP.
• Work with databases and data models (Google Spanner, SQL) and analytics with BigQuery.
• Establish and maintain testing practices (unit, integration, end-to-end).
• Support CI/CD pipelines, releases, deployments, and production troubleshooting.
• Identify and address security and dependency risks (Snyk, upgrades, secrets).
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical decision-making and code quality.
• Define module boundaries and ensure architectural consistency across teams.
• Leverage AI-assisted tooling to improve productivity and QA workflows.
• Explore agent-based tooling and automation to optimize engineering processes.
