Job summary

Rosendin Electric, Inc. is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead bid preparation and cost estimation for electrical construction projects.

You will collaborate with estimators, suppliers, and customers to deliver accurate, competitive estimates and ensure timely bidding. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering, 4+ years of estimating experience, and proficiency with Accubid, Livecount Cloud, Bluebeam, CAD, and 3D software.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints or engineering drawings.
• Perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating.
• Estimate all types of projects and coordinate/supervise group work.
• Mentor and assist with the development of Estimators.
• Identify and meet customers’ needs and requirements.
• Proficient in computer use and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and adapt to change.
• Oral and written communication skills as required for the position.
• Self-motivated, proactive and a strong team player.
• Interact professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimate from quantity take-off and complete the estimate for submission.
• Review proposal specs, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope and contents.
• Evaluate areas for value engineering and cost savings.
• Provide leadership to personnel preparing sub estimates for bids.
• Maintain backup documents for estimate figures.
• Develop labor productivity and installation unit costs.
• Prepare detailed lists of materials and equipment and obtain quotes.
• Solicit quotes from qualified suppliers/subcontractors and review for conformance.
• Ensure timely completion of client-required documents.
• Draft scope/proposal letters for bids and negotiated projects.
• Review scope and pricing with Chief Estimator before issuing bids.
• Meet with Project Management after turnover to explain scope and transition.
