Elastic is seeking a Senior Security Research Engineer to lead efforts in securing Elastic Defend across Windows, macOS, and Linux. You will build protections, extend endpoint visibility, and mentor engineers in a distributed team.

You will apply deep malware analysis, kernel understanding, and adversarial thinking to design resilient defenses while collaborating with researchers, data scientists, and engineers worldwide.

Formación

• 6+ years of professional security research experience analyzing TTPs and building detections.
• 6+ years of development in C, C++, and Python in security-critical codebases.
• Deep OS internals knowledge, Windows focus with macOS/Linux depth a plus.
• Strong reverse engineering and malware analysis capabilities with tooling.
• Adversarial mindset to anticipate evasion before shipping protections.
• Collaborative mindset with ability to learn new platforms and technologies.
• Experience using AI to accelerate development and debugging while owning outcomes.
• Autonomous work style in a distributed team with asynchronous communication.
• Passion for protecting data from attacks.

Responsabilidades

• Research attacker techniques and convert them into shipped protections.
• Extend endpoint visibility by instrumenting Windows, macOS, and Linux telemetry.
• Develop production code in C/C++ that runs at scale on millions of endpoints.
• Reverse engineer malware and study evasion to inform protections.
• Own efficacy end to end, review telemetry, and mitigate false positives.
• Extend protection parity across platforms and new architectures.
• Collaborate across Elastic Security with multi-country teams.
• Lead technical direction and mentor junior engineers.
• Publish and present research through Elastic Security Labs and conferences.
