Vanderlande Industries B.V. in Barcelona is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to lead the electrical design and implementation of complex warehouse automation systems for Southern Europe.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and customers to deliver designs from concept through commissioning, ensuring safety, quality, and on‑time delivery. Proficiency in Spanish and English is required, with ~5% travel expected.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Several years of electrical engineering experience in warehouse automation or industrial environments.
• Experience with power distribution systems and industrial electrical design.
• Experience designing and implementing industrial networks (PROFINET, PROFIBUS, AS‑i, Industrial Ethernet).
• Proficiency in engineering design software such as EPLAN and AutoCAD.

At a glance: We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join our team in Barcelona, Spain. In this role, you will lead the electrical design and implementation of complex warehouse automation and material handling systems for customers across Southern Europe. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project managers, suppliers, and customers, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical solutions from concept design through commissioning and handover.

Your Impact:

Lead the electrical engineering scope of automated warehouse and material handling projects throughout the complete project lifecycle. Design and specify electrical systems, power distribution solutions, control panels, and field devices in accordance with technical and safety standards. Produce detailed electrical schematics, control diagrams, and network architectures using technologies such as Industrial Ethernet, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, and AS-i bus. Develop comprehensive design packages, including installation drawings, cabling specifications, assembly instructions, and manufacturing documentation. Coordinate and align electrical interfaces with controls engineering, mechanical engineering, third-party equipment suppliers, and software partners. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to customer requirements and quality standards. Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support to project teams and stakeholders. Support system commissioning, troubleshooting, testing, and validation activities. Ensure compliance with relevant local regulations, industry standards, and safety requirements.

What makes you a great fit?

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Several years of experience in electrical engineering within warehouse automation, intralogistics, material handling systems, or industrial automation environments.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution systems and industrial electrical design.
• Experience designing and implementing industrial communication networks, including PROFINET, PROFIBUS, AS-i bus, and Industrial Ethernet.
• Proficient in engineering design software such as EPLAN and AutoCAD.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to technical challenges.
• Ability to coordinate technical stakeholders in an international project environment.
• Native Spanish speaker with a good command of English.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
• Pragmatic and capable of balancing quality, lead time, cost, and technical requirements.
• Flexible, proactive, and results-oriented working style.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to approximately 5%.
