Job summary

AECOM in Madrid is seeking a senior hydraulic engineer to lead drainage design on major infrastructure projects, including highways, rail, and airports. You will oversee design activities, ensure technical quality, and drive solutions across the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities include reviewing hydrological studies, coordinating hydraulic modelling with Civil 3D/OpenRoads and other tools, and working with international multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (civil preferred) and Master's in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years' experience in the design and delivery of linear infrastructure projects (highways, rail, corridors).
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Proficient in hydraulic design, drainage for infrastructure corridors, and crossover disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead drainage design for highways, railways, airports and other infrastructure projects, ensuring technical quality.
• Review hydrological and hydraulic studies developed by project teams.
• Coordinate and supervise hydraulic modelling activities using Civil 3D/OpenRoads/OpenRail and related tools.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in international environments, ensuring integration across disciplines.
• Review and approve technical documentation in both Spanish and English, ensuring standards compliance.
• Provide technical guidance to junior professionals and design teams.
