Senior Demand Generation Manager – Spain
Spain | Remote-friendly
€50,000 | 10-month maternity cover

I’m working with a high-growth B2B SaaS business that is scaling internationally and hiring a Senior Growth Marketing Manager to own marketing-led growth for the Spanish market.

Spain is already a significant and successful market for the business, contributing around 30% of its overall €40m ARR, so this isn’t a market that needs building from scratch. You’ll take ownership of an established territory, with the opportunity to test new ideas, improve what already exists and directly influence its next stage of growth.

This is a hands‑on, commercially accountable role for someone who enjoys being close to Sales, understands their numbers, and is constantly looking at what is and isn’t working.

The role

You’ll own the Spanish growth plan, translating commercial targets into the campaigns, channels and activity needed to generate qualified pipeline and revenue. Around 80% of the focus is net‑new acquisition, predominantly targeting the mid‑market, alongside opportunities to grow and cross‑sell within the existing customer base.

You’ll also have responsibility for Mexico, which is becoming an increasingly important market for the business. Previous experience of Mexico would be useful, but isn’t essential.

You’ll manage a Marketing Executive and an SDR, work extremely closely with the local Sales team, and collaborate with central Product Marketing, Content, Performance and Digital specialists.

The role spans digital demand generation, content, email, paid, webinars and ABM, but also events, trade shows, trade media, partnerships and local PR/communications. So this is broader than a traditional SaaS Performance Marketing or Demand Generation position.

What you’ll be doing
  • Owning the Spanish marketing plan against qualified pipeline, bookings and revenue targets
  • Working closely with Sales to understand market priorities, ICPs, pipeline quality and conversion
  • Using HubSpot/CRM and funnel data yourself to understand what is working, where conversion is dropping and where to focus next
  • Building integrated campaigns across paid, content, email, webinars, ABM, events, trade media and partnerships
  • Identifying and testing new campaigns, propositions, formats and channels rather than simply repeating an existing playbook
  • Developing campaigns for priority accounts, ICPs and new customer segments
  • Working with Product Marketing and Commercial teams on cross‑sell opportunities within the existing customer base
  • Owning local events and trade shows as part of the wider demand generation strategy
  • Managing relationships with relevant trade media, partners, agencies and suppliers
  • Managing the local marketing budget and deciding where to increase, reduce or redirect investment
  • Reporting on performance through to opportunities, pipeline and bookings
  • Managing and prioritising the workload of the Marketing Executive and SDR
  • Staying close enough to execution to step in and get things done when required
Where you'll set the strategy vs execute yourself

This is not a role where you personally execute every marketing channel.

You own the overall strategy and commercial results for the market, then work with your team and central specialists to bring different parts of that plan to life.

You’ll typically set the strategy and coordinate others for:
  • Paid media: deciding where paid fits, campaign priorities, audiences, messaging, budget and objectives, with specialists supporting execution
  • Content: defining the campaign, target audience, themes and assets required, with the Marketing Executive producing much of the content
  • Email and nurture: planning the campaign journey and communications required, with the Marketing Executive supporting build and execution in HubSpot
  • SDR activity: aligning targeting, priorities and follow‑up, with the SDR managing lead follow‑up
  • Wider campaigns: bringing Content, Product Marketing, Performance, Digital and Sales together around one commercial objective
You’ll be more personally hands‑on with:
  • Events and trade shows, including event organisers, suppliers, agencies and stand strategy
  • Trade media relationships, agreements and campaign activity
  • Local partnerships, PR and communications
  • Reviewing HubSpot/CRM and funnel performance yourself
  • Budget management, reporting and presenting market performance
  • Stepping directly into campaign execution when needed

So you need to be comfortable setting the direction, briefing and coordinating others, while also rolling your sleeves up in the areas you personally own.

For example, you may decide to run a webinar, determine the audience and proposition, decide the supporting paid and email activity and brief your team to execute it.

Equally, for an important Spanish trade show, you could personally be working with the organiser, briefing the stand design, coordinating suppliers and deciding how the event connects back into the wider campaign and pipeline strategy. That reflects how the role currently operates.

This role will suit you if...
  • You enjoy being the broad marketing owner for a market, rather than specialising in one channel.
  • You’re comfortable moving between strategy, project management and hands‑on execution. One part of your week might involve reviewing funnel performance and deciding where to invest budget, another briefing your Marketing Executive or paid specialists on a campaign, and another working directly with an event organiser, trade media partner or agency.
  • You don't need to be the hands‑on specialist in every channel. What matters is that you can own the overall plan, bring the right people together to execute it and personally step in where the role requires it.
This role probably won't suit you if...
  • Your experience is primarily Performance Marketing or paid acquisition, with the majority of your role centred around Google, Meta, LinkedIn, CAC, CPL and digital campaign optimisation.
  • Equally, it probably won't be right if you want to operate purely at a strategic level and hand all implementation to other teams.
  • This role requires someone who is commercial, analytical and strategic, but also willing to personally get involved in areas such as events, trade shows, industry partnerships, trade media and local market activity.
  • It is deliberately a 360‑degree market‑owning role, rather than a specialist digital acquisition position.
What they’re looking for

This doesn’t necessarily require someone with Growth Marketing in their current title. A strong B2B SaaS generalist, Regional Marketing Manager or Senior Marketing Manager who has genuinely owned demand and commercial outcomes could be equally relevant.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • 5+ years’ B2B marketing experience, ideally within SaaS or technology
  • Experience owning broad, multi‑channel B2B marketing programmes, rather than specialising purely in performance
  • Strong understanding of pipeline, conversion and how Marketing contributes to revenue
  • A genuinely analytical mindset and confidence getting into CRM and funnel data yourself
  • Experience working closely with Sales and building activity around shared commercial priorities
  • Exposure to events, trade shows, field marketing, trade media, partnerships or PR
  • Experience managing agencies, suppliers or external partners
  • The ability to move between strategy, project management and hands‑on execution
  • Experience managing or coordinating other marketers and specialists
  • Native or fluent Spanish
  • Based in Spain

Hospitality experience would be particularly valuable. The ideal combination would be B2B SaaS and hospitality, but strong SaaS/technology candidates or marketers with significant hospitality experience could both be relevant.

Why consider it?

There is a lot already working, but equally plenty of opportunity to improve and evolve how growth marketing is done.

You’ll have real ownership of one of the company’s most important markets, an established local team and the autonomy to introduce new ideas, campaigns and ways of working.

The wider business has ambitions to grow from €40m to €100m, and this role has a very visible part to play in that journey.

The role is remote‑friendly within Spain, with Madrid particularly convenient but not essential.

This is a maternity cover, so they are looking for someone who can join relatively quickly to allow for a proper handover with the current Senior Growth Marketing Manager before maternity leave.
