Job summary

TheFork is modernizing its Data Platform and building two teams of Data Engineers and Data Ops to enable scalable data processing and governance. You will lead from the front, establish best practices, and push boundaries to deliver a robust, lakehouse-based data infrastructure across Europe.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and mentorship guiding data engineering teams.
• Extensive experience with Data Lakehouse architectures and implementation.
• Solid understanding of Data Mesh, including domain ownership and governance.
• Strong Data Governance and Quality knowledge: metadata, lineage, observability.
• Proficiency in AWS services and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Expertise with Python, SQL, Snowflake and Airflow.
• Experience with data modeling and medallion architecture.

Responsibilities

• Own the data platform roadmaps and drive modernization.
• Lead 2 teams of Data Engineers and Data Ops; enforce best practices.
• Build self-service data platforms and govern data products.
• Collaborate with product and architects to align on data needs.
• Mentor team members and foster a culture of excellence.
• Contribute to system architecture and design with Architects.
• Coordinate and run proofs of concept (POCs).
