Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer with strong Data Center experience to design and deliver resilient, high-performance electrical infrastructure for mission-critical facilities. You will lead electrical design development, calculations, equipment selection, and design reviews across all project phases, providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 8 years of experience in electrical design, including Data Centers.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, NFPA, IEEE, BS, and EN standards.
• Proficient with ETAP, Caneco, AutoCAD, and Revit MEP.
• Experience as a technical lead coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of MV/LV electrical systems for Data Center facilities.
• Develop electrical designs, calculations, single-line diagrams, technical specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Design critical power systems including substations, transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS systems, STS, PDUs, and grounding networks.
• Perform and review power system studies, including load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, and reliability analyses.
• Review engineering deliverables and ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable standards, and industry best practices.
• Act as the technical lead for electrical projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior engineers.
• Engage with clients throughout project delivery, including technical reviews, workshops, and proposal development.
• Support construction activities and contribute to innovative and sustainable solutions for mission-critical environments.
