Job summary

Merck Healthcare is seeking a Senior Cloud Data & AI Architect to design and govern cloud-native architectures for scalable data, analytics, and AI across healthcare portfolios. You will partner with Data & AI, Security, Platform, and cross-functional teams to define standards and enable governed solutions on AWS, Snowflake, and Palantir Foundry.

Qualifications

As a Senior Cloud Data & AI Architect, you will design cloud-native architectures for data, analytics, AI/GenAI, and agentic AI across healthcare.
Experience with AWS, Snowflake or Palantir Foundry, and data governance in regulated domains is required.
Proficiency in Python and SQL; familiarity with IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation is expected.
6+ years in cloud architecture/engineering and delivering AI/ML infrastructures; strong security and governance understanding.

Responsibilities

Design end-to-end cloud architectures on AWS and data platforms (Snowflake, Palantir Foundry).
Lead reusable data ingestion, storage, processing, analytics, and AI/ML workflow patterns.
Architect AI/ML, GenAI capabilities, MLOps, monitoring, and risk controls.
Embed security, privacy, governance, resilience, and cost management from the start.
Evaluate platform choices for performance, scalability and TCO; create reference architectures and runbooks.
