Job summary

AstraZeneca plc is hiring in-office roles in Barcelona for AI-focused BioPharma Clinical Development. You will join the AI Science & Innovation (AISI) team to accelerate trial design, patient selection, and dose optimization using state-of-the-art AI methods.

You will work with data scientists and clinical collaborators to develop reusable AI approaches that scale across programmes, contributing to publications and advancing regulatory-ready methods in a hands-on role.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in a quantitative field.
• Experience in AI/ML model development with documented outputs.
• Experience with biological/clinical data is a plus.
• Strong Python skills and familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy AI/ML methods for clinical trials, including trial design support and biomarker discovery.
• Build reusable data products and pipelines with a software engineering mindset.
• Collaborate with Clinical Development, Biometrics, and Regulatory teams to embed AI in study design.
• Contribute to evaluating and benchmarking AI methods for regulatory settings.
• Engage with scientific communities, contributing to publications and presentations.
• Apply causal and longitudinal modelling approaches to trial data.
