IFF's Scent R&D division in Benicarló, Spain invites a PhD-level biocatalysis scientist to design and scale novel biocatalytic methods for fragrance molecules. You will lead experimental workflows, analyze data, and collaborate across chemistry, biology, and engineering to advance sustainable scent technologies.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant chemistry field with 3–5 years in biocatalysis.
• Strong expertise in enzymatic catalysis and organic synthesis.
• Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement novel biocatalytic methodologies with direct application to scent molecule development.
• Develop experimental procedures, analyze and interpret data, and ensure accurate reporting and documentation.
• Conduct innovative research projects from early-stage validation through to scale-up.
• Explore advancements in biotransformation and organic chemistry through literature and IP research.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation aligned with IFF strategy.
