Job summary

Scrambly S.r.l. is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to help build the core systems behind Scrambly. You’ll work on user-facing product systems and the internal platform, solving scalability challenges for a global, adtech product.

You’ll design and maintain scalable Node.js/NestJS RESTful APIs, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product, Design and QA to translate requirements into robust technical specs. This is a fully remote position with a fast-paced, value-driven engineering culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on Node.js.
• Excellent system design skills and a solid understanding of backend architecture, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred; AWS or Azure acceptable), containerization (Docker), and orchestration/IaC (Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm).
• Proficiency with relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Redis) databases, and message queues (RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub).
• Hands-on experience with React for internal tools and strong English (B2+) communication.

Responsibilities

• Architecture & Development: Design, build, and maintain highly scalable Node.js (NestJS) RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
• Quality & Mentorship: Champion clean, testable code standards and mentor engineers through code reviews and pair programming.
• Infrastructure & Performance: Monitor reliability, resolve bottlenecks, manage container lifecycles, and optimize CI/CD with DevOps.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Design, and QA to translate requirements into robust technical specs and communicate constraints to non-technical stakeholders.
