Job summary

Partner Company is seeking a Backend Engineer based in Spain to join a small, autonomous product team. You will own the central API and backend services, focusing on Node.js and TypeScript to power data, calculations, and core product experiences.

You will design intuitive APIs, scale systems, and support MVPs through experiments, working in a fully remote, asynchronous environment with frontend and product peers.

Qualifications

• Several years of professional API and backend systems experience.
• Strong Node.js and TypeScript expertise with API design focus.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• High code quality, performance, and developer experience emphasis.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain central API and backend services using Node.js/TypeScript.
• Build fast, reliable services delivering data and calculations for clients.
• Create intuitive APIs and data models that abstract complexity for teams.
• Scale backend systems while ensuring reliability and performance.
• Contribute to MVPs and experiments to validate new ideas.
• Own the internal API’s stability, usability, and evolution.
• Debug production issues across the tech stack and improve practices.
• Collaborate with frontend, design, and product on projects large and small.
• Take end-to-end ownership of projects across technologies and teams.
