bsport is hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join the Financial Services team and craft a scalable payment and invoicing engine for clients worldwide. You will lead feature design, drive architecture decisions, and collaborate with Data, Product, and DevOps to deliver reliable, high-availability services.

You will mentor peers, implement best practices for testing, CI/CD, and observability, and help expand bsport's financial offerings across geographies with diverse client profiles.

Formación

• Experience in a compliance-heavy industry such as accounting, payments or health-tech.
• Experience at scale, serving millions of users.
• Experience integrating multiple payment providers.
• Preference for domain-driven development with practical trade-offs.
• Fluent English communication and strong ownership.
• Ability to lead and mentor other engineers.

About the role:

Joining our "Financial Services" team means playing a crucial role in shaping the success of our engineering department by providing all the tools for bsport to become client's financial partner. Your team’s focus areas will include:

• Provide a scalable payment and invoicing engine to our clients (500k€/day payment stack)

• Bill our clients and manage the access of bsport features based on various geographies and client profiles

• Expand bsport financial offering (payment methods, payroll services, financial agents) to various client types and geographies

What will be your impact:

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will:

• Lead the design of complex features and event-driven architectures that handle high-volume data and ensure a balance between immediate product requirements, technical feasibility, and high availability.

• Write robust, efficient, and maintainable code and implement best practices for code reviews, testing, and continuous integration & delivery.

• Provide technical leadership and share knowledge with less experienced engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation.

• Work closely with Data, Product, and DevOps teams to deploy and maintain cutting-edge solutions and align technical strategy with business goals, ensuring each release adds measurable value.

• Continuously monitoring and improving the performance of backend services using Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, and Sentry.

• Participate in our cross-team Backend & DevOps chapters, providing innovative solutions and improvements to our stack (Grafana, Kibana, PostgreSQL, AWS, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Django, Django Rest Framework), advocating for best practices in observability, monitoring, and alerting to ensure systems run at peak efficiency.

You would be great fit if you have:

• You have substantial experience in any current Object-Oriented backend language (familiarity with Python and Django is a plus)

• You have a significant experience in a compliance-heavy industry (Accounting, payment, Health-tech...)

• You have experience working at scale, serving dozen of millions of users

• You are comfortable on managing systems and data model that federate multiple third parties (ex: integrate multiple payment service provider …)

• You love domain-driven development, but understand how to make trade-offs with it.

• You understand both how powerful and how dangerous AI-assisted workflows can be, and want to redefine the barriers of what is doable

• You are not afraid of taking ownership to build exceptional products, including on design and product decision.

• You are professionally proficient in English
