Macadam, a fast-growing platform used by millions of walkers worldwide, is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to own server-side infrastructure and API design. You’ll collaborate with mobile, product, and data teams to deliver reliable, scalable features, based in Barcelona with a hybrid work model.

You’ll work with NestJS, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Google Cloud Platform, shaping the backend to power the app’s growth and impact.

Formación

• 6+ years backend development in high-traffic products.
• Strong TypeScript and Node.js skills.
• Solid NestJS experience and ecosystem.
• Deep PostgreSQL knowledge: indexing, queries and schema design.
• Hands-on Redis experience.
• Experience with GCP and cloud-native deployment.
• Experience with Prisma ORM.
• Understanding of design patterns, clean architecture and SOLID.
• Comfortable in agile startup environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Fluent English.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain robust RESTful APIs and backend services with NestJS.
• Architect and optimize data models and queries on PostgreSQL.
• Implement and manage Redis caching for latency and scale.
• Leverage Google Cloud Platform services to deploy backend infrastructure.
• Collaborate with React Native mobile team on API contracts.
• Contribute to code reviews, docs, and best practices.
• Monitor and improve backend performance and reliability.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and shape the technical roadmap.
• Leverage AI tools to optimize workflows.
