Job summary

Oliver Bernard is seeking a backend engineer for an AI-native fintech scale-up. You will design and ship end-to-end backend systems and APIs that run real-time accounting logic, owning architecture and CI/CD, testing and monitoring. This role is fully remote within the EU and offers significant equity.

Must have 5+ years in backend, strong PostgreSQL/SQL/ORM skills, AWS deployment, and a fast-paced, high-agency work culture. Python plus FastAPI/Flask/Django is a bonus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend experience with complex business logic
• Deep experience with complex business logic products
• Strong database skills: PostgreSQL, SQL, ORMs, migrations and schema design
• Experience deploying on AWS with solid CI/CD and production-readiness
• Hardcore work ethic and high agency
• Pragmatic, fast-moving and data-driven decision making
• Python and a modern web framework (FastAPI, Flask or Django) is a bonus

Responsibilities
