Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Staff Application Security Engineer based in Spain to establish and scale a dedicated security function within a high-growth tech environment. You will combine strong software engineering with hands-on application security to improve SDLC, lead threat modeling, and drive remediation across APIs, SDKs, and cloud services.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering and/or security engineering, including 5+ years in application security.
• Experience building or improving application security programs within a product engineering organization with hands-on implementation.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and production-quality code in TypeScript/JavaScript/Go/Python.
• Familiarity with modern web apps, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, source repos.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a secure SDLC with threat modeling, secure reviews, and pre-release testing.
• Own and improve application security tooling (SAST/DAST/SCA, secrets detection, container scans).
• Integrate security tools into CI/CD, reduce false positives, define remediation SLAs.
• Develop AI-first security engineering with AI-assisted triage, automated remediation, and security agents.
• Lead threat modeling and architecture security reviews for APIs, web/mobile SDKs, dashboards, data pipelines.
• Manage vulnerability identification, risk assessment, and remediation from scanners, pentests, bug bounties, disclosures.
• Conduct hands-on security testing including manual code review and exploitation testing.
