Parser is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) to join a client delivery team focused on AI-enabled search for a major multinational retail client. The role blends strong Python backend engineering with hands-on Generative AI, moving from prototypes to production-ready solutions.

You’ll decide when deterministic rules, ML, or human review are best, work across product, design, data science and engineering, and help ensure quality, latency and cost are managed in live deployments.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of professional experience across software engineering, data engineering, ML or applied AI.
• Proven experience delivering AI-enabled systems beyond proofs of concept.
• Strong ability to ship iterative, user-focused solutions with reliability and safety.
• Excellent communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Design and build AI-enabled features that turn search behaviour into actionable insights using LLMs where it adds value.
• Build backend services and APIs for tools that collect and combine human relevance judgements.
• Turn offline evaluation tools into on-demand environments for CI/CD pipelines.
• Define and automate checks on AI feature accuracy, reliability and cost.
• Collaborate with product, design, data science and Search teams to turn prototypes into production releases.
• Integrate with client platforms and APIs, monitor quality, latency and cost, document trade-offs.
