Changan Spain is seeking a Senior Finance Controller to join the Finance team in Spain, based from the Alcobendas office. The role focuses on establishing robust accounting, tax, invoicing and inventory processes and leading a small Finance operations team.

You will work with local business teams and global Finance partners to implement scalable processes, improve controls and support budgeting and forecasting.

Formación

• Five+ years in accounting, controlling or Finance operations in automotive sector.
• Strong knowledge of the complete accounting cycle.
• Advanced Excel skills.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate the complete accounting cycle of the Spanish entity.
• Support monthly and annual closing processes.
• Ensure accurate revenue, COGS, operating expenses, accruals and provisions.
• Coordinate supplier invoice processing.
• Review inventory valuation and stock movements.
• Coordinate Spanish tax compliance with external advisers.
• Assist in implementing and improving financial systems and workflows.
• Identify automation, standardisation and process improvement opportunities.
• Support management reporting, gross margin and budgeting.

Accounting Controller & Finance Operations

About the role We are looking for a Senior Finance Controller to join the Finance team of our growing automotive business in Spain, from the office located in Alcobendas. This is a key position within a recently established organization, offering the opportunity to participate in the development of the local Finance function, define scalable accounting processes and contribute to the implementation of new financial systems and controls. The successful candidate will combine strong accounting and controlling knowledge with a practical and proactive approach. The role will initially focus on establishing robust accounting, tax, invoicing and inventory processes and will progressively evolve towards broader process ownership, continuous improvement and the coordination of a small Finance operations team. The position reports to the Finance Manager Spain and will work closely with local business teams, European and global Finance teams, external accounting and tax advisers, auditors and other business partners.

Main responsibilities

• Coordinate the complete accounting cycle of the Spanish entity.
• Support monthly and annual closing processes.
• Ensure the accurate recognition of revenue, cost of sales, operating expenses, accruals and provisions.
• Coordinate supplier invoice processing.
• Review inventory valuation, goods in transit, stock movements, damages and write-offs.
• Coordinate recurring Spanish tax compliance obligations together with external tax advisers.
• Review tax returns, reconciliations and financial information prepared by external providers.
• Participate in the implementation and continuous improvement of financial systems and accounting workflows.
• Identify opportunities for automation, standardisation and process improvement.
• Support management reporting, gross margin analysis, inventory analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
• Coordinate intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Support statutory audits and other Finance-related reviews.
• Contribute to the future development of the local Finance team and progressively supervise junior team members as the business grows.

Candidate profile

• At least five years of relevant experience in accounting, controlling or Finance operations in automotive sector.
• Strong knowledge of the complete accounting cycle.
• Knowledge of VAT, intra-EU transactions, imports, customs or Intrastat.
• Experience in companies selling physical goods and managing inventory.
• Practical experience with revenue recognition, supplier invoices, monthly closing and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Good knowledge of Spanish accounting principles and recurring tax obligations.
• Knowledge of VAT, intra-EU transactions, imports, customs or Intrastat.
• Experience in a newly established subsidiary or rapidly growing company.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience working with ERP or accounting systems.
• Professional fluency in Spanish and English.
• Proactive and hands‑on approach.
• Interest in building scalable processes and contributing to the development of a Finance team.
