Changan Spain is seeking a Senior Finance Controller to join the Finance team in Alcobendas. You will establish robust accounting processes, manage tax and inventory workflows, and drive improvements across the finance function while collaborating with local, European and global teams.

The role requires five+ years in accounting/controlling in automotive, fluent Spanish and English, and hands-on experience with ERP systems.

Formación

• Minimum five years of accounting/controlling experience in automotive sector.
• Experience with VAT, intra-EU transactions, imports and customs.
• Experience with monthly closings, revenue recognition and intercompany accounting.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Excellent Excel skills; ability to build scalable processes.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate the complete accounting cycle of the Spanish entity.
• Support monthly and annual closing processes.
• Ensure accurate recognition of revenue, cost of sales, operating expenses, accruals and provisions.
• Review inventory valuation, stock movements, damages and write-offs.
• Coordinate recurring Spanish tax compliance obligations with external advisers.
• Review tax returns, reconciliations and financial information prepared by external providers.
• Participate in the implementation and continuous improvement of financial systems and workflows.
• Identify opportunities for automation, standardisation and process improvement.
• Support management reporting, gross margin analysis, inventory analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
• Coordinate intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Support statutory audits and other Finance-related reviews.
• Contribute to the development of the local Finance team and supervise junior members as the business grows.

Accounting Controller & Finance Operations

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Finance Controller to join the Finance team of our growing automotive business in Spain, from the office located in Alcobendas.

This is a key position within a recently established organization, offering the opportunity to participate in the development of the local Finance function, define scalable accounting processes and contribute to the implementation of new financial systems and controls.

The successful candidate will combine strong accounting and controlling knowledge with a practical and proactive approach. The role will initially focus on establishing robust accounting, tax, invoicing and inventory processes and will progressively evolve towards broader process ownership, continuous improvement and the coordination of a small Finance operations team.

The position reports to the Finance Manager Spain and will work closely with local business teams, European and global Finance teams, external accounting and tax advisers, auditors and other business partners.

Main responsibilities

• Coordinate the complete accounting cycle of the Spanish entity.

Candidate profile

• At least five years of relevant experience in accounting, controlling or Finance operations in automotive sector.
• Strong knowledge of the complete accounting cycle. Knowledge of VAT, intra-EU transactions, imports, customs or Intrastat.
• Experience in companies selling physical goods and managing inventory.
• Practical experience with revenue recognition, supplier invoices, monthly closing and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Good knowledge of Spanish accounting principles and recurring tax obligations. Knowledge of VAT, intra-EU transactions, imports, customs or Intrastat.
• Experience in a newly established subsidiary or rapidly growing company.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience working with ERP or accounting systems.
• Professional fluency in Spanish and English.
• Proactive and hands-on approach.
• Interest in building scalable processes and contributing to the development of a Finance team.
