Idealista in Spain is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to redesign the data layer of a core vertical. You’ll own data models, ingestion pipelines, and governance, applying modern lakehouse architectures.

Formación

• Advanced SQL with CTEs, window functions, and optimization for large data volumes.
• Experience with data transformation frameworks like dbt or equivalents.
• Strong data modeling skills: dimensional, Data Vault, or both.
• Familiarity with modern data architectures: lakehouse, medallion, ELT.
• Proficiency in Python or JVM (Java/Kotlin) for pipelines or data services.
• Using Git and the command line effectively.
• 5+ years of data engineering or related roles.
• Experience working with product/backend teams, not only data silos.

Responsabilidades

• Redesign the vertical's data model: entities, relationships, events, and metrics.
• Design and implement ingestion, transformation, and serving pipelines using dbt and columnar databases.
• Define and enforce data governance: ownership, lineage, cataloging, naming standards, quality policies.
• Integrate heterogeneous sources via clear data contracts between teams.
• Collaborate with product/backend teams to translate needs into robust models and pipelines.
• Document modeling decisions, contracts, and standards from day one.
