Sezzle in Spain is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to own authentication and authorization systems, with 12+ years of backend experience. This fully remote role offers a leadership opportunity to shape security at scale.

You will design gateway and identity services in Golang, work with AWS and relational databases, and guide migrations with zero downtime while mentoring teams across the organization. Compensation ranges $6,000 to $11,000 per month, negotiable by experience.

Formación

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in authentication and authorization systems: OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML.
• Experience designing, building, or operating an API gateway or auth proxy at scale.
• Strong proficiency in Golang and RESTful API development.
• Distributed systems design patterns and edge services.

Responsabilidades

• Own the technical vision and roadmap for Sezzle's authentication and authorization platform, including a dedicated API gateway.
• Architect, design, and build scalable, highly-available auth services and gateway components in Golang.
• Lead phased, zero-downtime migrations with rollback and safety mechanisms.
• Establish authentication and authorization standards across the platform (OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, RBAC/ABAC).
• Drive a distributed microservices architecture while maintaining performance at the edge.
• Collaborate with Security and Compliance to meet fintech-grade security and regulatory requirements.
• Establish and evolve engineering best practices for observability, security, and CI/CD.
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident response for auth-critical paths.
• Mentor engineers and promote a culture of learning and operational excellence.
• Translate business goals into technical roadmaps and deliver meaningful results.
