Affirm is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Backend (Identity International) to lead backend architecture for global markets from Spain. You will design scalable systems, shape technical strategy, and collaborate with product, design and analytics to ensure robust identity services.

You will own operations, drive high availability, and help grow talent while contributing to critical regulatory and platform-wide decisions.

Formación

• 8+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience with Python or Kotlin for backend services.
• Proven track record delivering features or components with clear technical/exec plans.
• Ability to handle ambiguity and reason from low-level details to system architecture.
• Strong written and verbal communication to collaborate with global teams.

Responsabilidades

• Set technical strategy for your team on a year-long horizon and align it with business priorities.
• Collaborate with product management, design and analytics to ensure technical viability and trade-offs.
• Act as a force-multiplier by defining and promoting scalable technical solutions and processes.
• Own your team’s operations, monitoring, incident response, runbooks and on-call readiness.
• Establish and enforce code quality standards and architectural guidelines across teams.
• Mentor and develop team members, providing feedback and leading by example.
• Participate in on-call rotations as a requirement.
