Job summary

CONVOTIS Iberia is seeking a senior network engineer to manage and secure our client environments in Spain. You will work on firewall and VPN technologies, design scalable network layouts, and ensure robust documentation and automation.

The role requires hands-on experience with pfSense/OPNsense, IPSec, BGP, and Proxmox, plus strong English and Spanish. Flexible work options are available, with a focus on collaboration and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience (excluding educational programs and internships).
• Hands-on knowledge of pfSense and OPNsense, IPSec VPNs, BGP or other dynamic routing protocols.
• IPv4/IPv6 proficiency and networking on Proxmox.
• Experience with network automation using Ansible, Python or Bash.
• Fluent English and Spanish; independent and well documented work style.

Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day network and firewall operations across CONVOTIS / MCON.
• Implement and document IPSec VPNs and firewall rules on pfSense/OPNsense.
• Design and document network environments with emphasis on thorough documentation.
• Troubleshoot routing, switching, VPN issues; deep packet analysis.
• Introduce basic network automation to streamline deployments (Ansible/Python/Bash).
• Collaborate with SOC for firewall log analysis and incident mitigation.
• Train and onboard new colleagues; share knowledge within the team.
• Support duty roster with NOC/SOC Operations Team, including nights/weekends.
