Job summary

OpenTeams is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the platform support team. You’ll own production systems end to end, triaging requests, and building ownership and context across internal platforms and customer-facing deployments.

You’ll work on Kubernetes deployments, Helm/ArgoCD, and cloud provisioning, while maintaining the internal site and security hygiene. This is a fully remote, US-based role with a distributed team and strong emphasis on asynchronous collaboration.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of combined experience in IT support, systems administration, or infrastructure work.
• Comfortable in Linux and on the command line: filesystems, permissions, processes, logs, systemd, package management, SSH.
• Working understanding of networking fundamentals — DNS, DHCP, HTTP/TLS, VPNs, firewalls.
• Scripting ability in Python and/or Bash for automation.
• Comfortable with Git and pull request workflows.
• Exposure to at least one major cloud provider and to containers.
• Experience administering SaaS tools including user lifecycle and permissions.
• Strong communication and service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Own the internal request queue: triage, resolve, escalate, and prevent silent failures.
• Administer Google Workspace and identity systems—accounts, groups, SSO, onboarding/offboarding runbooks.
• Support provisioning and maintenance of cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent): IAM, networking, tagging, cost visibility.
• Deploy and operate internal apps on Kubernetes using Helm and ArgoCD with guidance from seniors.
• Maintain the internal OpenTeams website and related build pipelines, DNS, and publishing.
• Build and maintain monitoring/alerting; reduce alert noise and improve reliability.
• Handle security and access hygiene: patching, MFA, access reviews, endpoint config, offboarding.
