Lever, Inc. is seeking an AI Harness Engineer in Spain to build integration layers between local AI capabilities and developer tooling. You will design reusable modules and tooling for multiple model types in a distributed, peer‑to‑peer style environment.

This role emphasizes reliability, experimentation, and collaboration within a remote, globally distributed team. You will create evaluation systems, maintain npm components, and help scale local AI at the edge across diverse projects.

Formación

• 5+ years of production software experience.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modeling complex state across systems.
• Hands-on experience building AI agent harnesses and tool calls.
• Experience with evaluation systems and test infrastructure for non-deterministic AI.
• Experience creating and managing reusable npm modules.
• Strong testing, debugging, and production-quality skills.

Responsabilidades

• Build features with reliability and performance focus.
• Design reusable tools and modules for AI capabilities across models.
• Develop AI agent harnesses including tool calling and context management.
• Create evaluation frameworks and non-deterministic AI testing infrastructure.
• Evolve peer-to-peer tech to support local AI and distributed use cases.
• Maintain high-quality codebase with reviews, tests, and modular architecture.
• Design systems resilient to network failures, timeouts, and retries.
• Develop reusable npm modules and shared components.
• Experiment with new technologies to expand AI and P2P capabilities.
• Collaborate with a globally distributed engineering team.
