Job summary

Placements24 seeks a dedicated Rehabilitation Support Officer to assist individuals in their recovery and reintegration journey within the Queenstown community. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to help clients develop life skills, rebuild confidence, and transition back into the community.

The role provides practical support with daily living activities, medication adherence, emotional support, and group sessions, with opportunities for specialized training and a supportive team

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in rehabilitation, mental health support, or substance abuse recovery services.
• Strong understanding of rehabilitation principles and best practices.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.
• Ability to work with clients from diverse backgrounds with empathy and respect.
• Proficiency in record-keeping and basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in developing and implementing personalized rehabilitation plans, focusing on achieving their recovery goals.
• Provide practical support with daily living activities, medication adherence, and appointment attendance.
• Offer emotional support and counseling, helping clients manage stress and build coping strategies.
• Facilitate group sessions focused on life skills, recovery education, and social integration.
• Liaise with families, healthcare providers, and community support services to ensure comprehensive client care.
• Monitor client progress, document interventions, and report any significant changes or concerns to the supervisor.
