Job summary

AWS is seeking a Regional Safety Engineer to own the Health and Safety function for data centers in the EMEA region. You will lead safety initiatives, perform audits, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks and improve safety culture across sites.

You will partner with onsite teams, security, compliance, and risk management to ensure adherence to global safety programs and provide clear guidance on safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or experience in an industry role.
• Knowledge of advanced English at CEFR level B2/C1.
• Speak, write, and read fluently in Spanish.
• Spanish Master degree in Health and Safety.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of health and safety standards, policies and practices including but not limited to; safety management systems, training, risk assessments, assist with industrial hygiene assessments, and applicable safety regulations.
• Conduct health and safety audits of all Data Centers to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements as well as life safety requirements.
• Ensure compliance and implementation of global health and safety programs that exceed regulatory requirements.
• Develop health and safety plans for on-site emergencies, business continuity, and other unique events.
• Maintain safety record keeping and data integrity.
• Perform data trend reviews to present to cluster leadership to support business and safety initiatives.
• Consult and partner with the AWS H&S Program team and legal teams for interpretations and guidance.
• Identify risks and partner with Operations to mitigate them
• Daily interactions with our customers delivering health and safety guidance.
